President Bola Tinubu has nominated Dr. Kingsley Tochukwu Ude, Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), to head the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Technology.
The nomination, announced by
Senate President Godswill Akpabio during Tuesday’s plenary session, aims to strengthen the government and drive development in key sectors.
Dr. Ude, currently the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice in Enugu State, is expected to succeed Uche Nnaji, who resigned last month.
The Senate has also referred Dr. Ude’s nomination to the Committee of the Whole for immediate consideration and screening.
As Nigeria’s Science, Innovation and Technology Minister, Dr. Ude’s leadership will be crucial in shaping the country’s science and technology landscape. His confirmation would mark a significant step in the government’s efforts to harness science, innovation, and technology for national development.
